Woke up to this beautiful sight outside my room.
The view from my hotel room (Orange Restaurant is on the bottom
right)
There’s no rush this morning, all of us had a good rest before
setting out to explore Phuket on our own. So this is the day when my homemade research
map comes in handy (^-^)
First stop ~ breakfast.
We decided to try the breakfast set at Orange Restaurant, just a few steps away from our hotel. It is
actually just right in front of our hotel. The price was considered cheap for
such a good breakfast ~ only 99Bht and we get this!
Our Breakfast Menu
All the sets came with 2 slices of toasted bread, Butter &
jam, orange juice & either coffee or tea.
We had such a great start today with this satisfying meal!!
Patong Beach is just a 5 minute walk from our
hotel. The roads leading to the beach
are lined with small shop lots, which were mostly still closed as it was still
early.
PATONG BEACH
A stall selling skewered ‘goodies’ by the beach ~ they are practically
everywhere! (Lucky for us =)
From the beach, we headed towards Sainamyen Road looking for a
Duck Noodle shop that a friend recommended but only to find it closed for the
day. So we headed back towards the beach area for some shopping before going
back to the hotel. We ended up mostly window shopping as the things there are
rather pricey.
Enquiring back at the hotel, the receptionist said that we can
find souvenirs at a much cheaper price at Junceylon Mall, which was the next
stop on our list.... but before that, we just had to have a nice cool dip in
the hotel pool....so refreshing on a hot day.
It wasn’t a very big pool but we enjoyed the Jacuzzi at the pool =)
JUNGCEYLON MALL
The biggest mall in Patong, we were there for hours & couldn’t
even finish walking around the whole mall. There are 2 McDonald in this huge
mall, one at each end of the shopping complex, and true enough there were many
varieties of souvenirs at very cheap prices...who would have thought that
things at the Mall would be cheaper than those sold outside..lol
The main entrance with lovely decorations for Chinese New Year
The main concourse
are with beautifully decorated stalls selling from food to souvenirs
The icon of Jungceylon ~ A life sized Junk right smack in the
middle of the mall
Lunch at McDonald
I would have preferred the 7Eleven Pork burgers mainly because
we can stuff in all the veggies we want at no extra cost (^-^)
Sawadikap from Ronald McDonald (^-^)
Come evening, it was time to get ready for the much awaited PHUKET FANTASEA
We had made booking with Golden Beach Tours for the Gold Seat
without dinner for 1500Bht each. We again had Phuket’s fabulous street foods
& of course our favourite, 7Eleven Pork Burgers (^-^)b
This stall was just along the road to our hotel
Deliciously BBQ
skewers of sausages & chicken
All ready & waiting for our van transport to Phuket Fantasea
Our van arrived at 6.50pm, it made several pick up at a few
hotels around Patong before starting the journey to Phuket Fantasea which took
almost an hour. It travelled along the costal roads, passing by Kamala Beach
before reaching our destination. We were dropped off at the ticketing counters
to collect our entrance ticket. The ticketing booth itself was awesome!

Can you believe it..these are actually Shopping venues in the park

While we were starting to leave the park, it began to drizzle
and soon enough it started to rain heavily. Hurriedly we went to queue for our transportation
back to Patong...it was a long queue & it was quite a while before we
finally got into our van back to the hotel.
While waiting for our turn to get into our van.....
Actually all of us were a bit wet, even standing in the shade as the rain was splashing in from both sides of the shade blown in by the wind.

Our Phuket Fantasea ticket
Believe me, you may think 1500Bht is rather pricey (I thought
so too at first) but this is the show you would not want to miss. It’s really worth it. Fantastic presentation,
lighting & performance!!
Do check out this link for more information
We were famished when we arrived back at the hotel. We decided
to walk out for look for something to appease our rumbling tummies before
getting to our rooms. Most restaurant
were already starting to close for the night as it was already past midnight,
so we went in to the 1st shop that was still open & made our
orders....and boy...were we disappointed. Not only the service was bad (maybe
due to the fact that they still had to serve us at this hour), the food was terrible!!!
Maybe it’s a good idea to give this place a miss next time you
are in Patong ~ Gia Mas 88
Looks good..but taste terrible, even the drinks were flat!!
Tonight is our last night in Phuket......tomorrow will be
‘Last Minute shopping day’ before we check out at noon =)
DAY 4 ~ FINAL DAY
I have decided not to write a separate blog posting on our
last day here in Phuket as I do not have many photos to share on my last day here.
Last night, my faithful camera decided it was time to go to
‘heaven’....Haizzzzzz
But I can also consider myself lucky that it happened only on
our last night here. So the rest of the photos are mostly taken by my daughter
with her camera & handphone. She’s not a camera fanatic like me so there’s
not much photos to share..hahahaha
Today since we had so much time before our 9.15pm flight back
to Kuala Lumpur, we decided to go to the beach again in the morning.
Last day at Patong Beach
Enjoying a nice fruity ice-cream from 7-Eleven after the beach
& doing last minute shopping for Phuket yummies to take back home (^-^)
We rushed back to the hotel to pack our stuff (which was quite
a lot of work, especially with all the extra load of FOOD!!)
After checking out at 1.00pm, we left our baggage at the
reception & went for brunch at Patong Corner
Restaurant just opposite to Orange Restaurant which we had our
breakfast yesterday.
Praises to the good food served there at very affordable
prices.
Crab meat fried rice
Seafood Tomyam Noodles
Pad Thai Pork
Spaghetti Bacon
Pad Siew Pork
Drinks ~ Mango Juice, Mixed Berries Juice & Mixed Fruit
Juice
Our Bill
Then it’s off for last minuite shopping again!!
We had been looking for this shop since the 1st day
we were in Phuket ~ I Love Phuket Shop selling all T-shirts for just
100Bht, good quality & a good bargain.
We went for another final round to Jungceylon Mall for some
last minute shopping. So much walking today...all our feet were worn out tired.
We decided to hail a Tuk-Tuk to take us back to the hotel. Being peak season,
all the tuk-tuk charged a standard 200Bht.. this is our 1st &
last ride before leaving Phuket...and we really enjoyed the ride back to the
hotel =)
Enjoying the Tuk-Tuk ride back to our hotel
Again there was a last minute packing at the lobby before our
pre-arranged van transport for the airport arrived at 5.30pm
Being too early for dinner, we ‘tapao’ our all-time favourite
from Phuket ~ Pork Burgers from 7-Eleven to the airport.
The road to the airport was jam-packed (no wonder we had to
leave this early ~ the traffic was terrible!!) The supposedly 50 mins journey
to the airport took us almost close to 2hrs to reach due to the traffic snarl
all the way. Most of us being so tired out the whole day dozed off, only
waking-up upon reaching the airport.
Checking in went smoothly without a hitch & we had ample
time to rest & have our dinner before our flight back to Malaysia. I still
had some balance Thai bht coins ~ just enough for some additional Dunkin’
Donuts for dinner =)
Pork Sausage buns, Dunkin’ Donuts & 7-Eleven pork Burgers
Then it was time to board our 9.15 AirAsia flight back to
Malaysia.....Bye-Bye Phuket, we had such a wonderful holiday!!
I miss you
already.....
Souvenirs from Phuket & yummy food from The Land of Smiles =)
