My Aussie Adventure ~ Day 3

Today’s morning call came at 7.30am, we gathered at the lobby after breakfast as we did yesterday.

[Freshly made omelette with our own choice of ingredients ~ yummy!  And the hotel serves the most delicious Miso Soup]

At 8.45 we were all off to our destination of the day ..... Warner Brother’s Movie World..only to be informed that there would be no parade today..such a disappointment as all of us have been looking forward to it, but anyway we were also looking forward to the Hollywood Stunt Driver show, a multi-million dollar live action stunt show which showcases legendary car chases and stunt scenes that have helped define some of Hollywood’s greatest movies which turned out to be really incredible & awesome, their death defying stunts, high speed chases & sound effects were so heart-stopping.
[The Holywood Stunt Driver Showcase ~ Awesome!!]

The Superman Escape Roller Coaster ~ voted the best rollercoaster in the southern hemisphere with the speed of 0 -100kph in 2 seconds!!

Even without the parade we were lucky enough to get to watch brief shows like The Batman stunt show, Marilyn Monroe & the most unforgettable Warner Brothers cartoon characters, Bugs Bunny, Sylvester, Tweedy Bird & Daffy Duck.

(Batman & the Warner Bros.cartoon characters in action)

My next favourite place in Movie World is the Kid’s WB Fun Zone..Home to all our favourite Looney Tunes characters ~ Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Tweedy, Sylvester, Wile E.Coyote, Porky Pig, Taz & Foghorn Leghorn. A magical cartoon world for the young and the young at hearts

(The various attractions & rides at Kid’s WB Fun World)
We took a few shots at the Cowboy Town ~ Wild West Falls. It was so hot that day that temperatures shot up to a scorching 39~40 degrees that afternoon, so hot that I could feel the burning sun on my skin, even Malaysia isn’t this hot! Feeling hot & sweaty all over, we took cover & rested a while in one of the cowboy ‘Town House’ & watched the Cowboy & Cowgirl Comedy sketch from a distance. Don’t know how those people can stand in the scorching sun just to watch the show.

(The smoothie I had was like heaven on such a hot day)
With the scorching sun, we decided to watch the 4D movie at the Roxy Theatre, it would also give us some rest while enjoying the air-condition inside. The movie of the day was “The Polar Express” an animated cartoon. What I can say about this is...the 4D at Genting Highlands is so much more exciting.
(Another one of the Roller Coaster rides ~ Scooby Doo Spooky)
This ride is considered a ‘mild’ one compared to the ‘Superman Escape’ roller coaster. Already tired out due to the afternoon heat, only my other half was eager to try out this ride while the rest of us waited under the shade nearby.
If you’re a Harry Potter fan, then you should not miss this souvenir shop selling all sorts of Harry Potter items

Then there’s Candies..Lollypops and of course.......
Ice Cream !!
It was already close to 4.00pm and we made a brief stop at the WB Souvenir shop before meeting up with the other members of our tour group
One final shot before leaving WB Movie World.

Some sights around Movie World .........

Our final stop for the day was Q-Deck, it’s situated just opposite Watermark Hotel. This is Australia’s only beachside observation deck rising 230m above ground & located on the 77th floor of the iconic Q1 Tower. It high speed lift only takes 43 seconds to reach the observation deck. We can experience a 360 degree view of Gold Coast.

It was then back to the hotel to have a nice cool shower before meeting up with the others for dinner. Dinner was at the nearby walking distance Legend Seafood Restaurant. The food wasn’t anything special...simple Chinese cooking.

Menu of the day ~ Sweet & Sour Prawns, Steamed eggs with scallops, fried squid with celery, sweet & sour spareribs, Lettuce in oyster sauce & battered prawns in sauce.
After dinner we walked around Surfers Paradise since the night was still early. Our stroll took us right up to the main beach of Surfer’s Paradise but as it was night we can’t see much of the beach. Right down further along the beach, there was the Beachfront Market, held every Wednesday & Friday nights from 5.30~10.00pm...aren’t we lucky!! There one can find all sorts of items on sale, mainly local handicrafts. I took shots of some stalls but there are those where photography are not allowed.

There are many different kind of street performers, from comedians, singers, magic shows & even ‘Silverman’. The streets leading up to the main entrance of Surfers Paradise is very much alive & lively till late night.

In Surfer’s Paradise we can find very unique shops that  can never find here in Malaysia, there is a mini ‘Ripley’s Believe It Or Not’, there is even an ‘Airplane Simulator’ Shop if you are interested to feel what’s it like to fly an airplane...rather unique I would say.
(Airplane Simulator)

(Vegas ~ a gambler’s paradise in Gold Coast)
Then there’s this very very ‘unique’ shop that I just couldn’t resist taking a photo of ....
Interesting as it looks I dared not venture beyond its doors. There are lots of Chinese restaurants to choose from as well as souvenir shops were you can compare its prices and get a good bargain too.
(One of the many souvenier shops)

This ice-cream shop ‘Copenhagen’ is recommended by our guide and is reputedly the most delicious ice-cream in Gold Coast

So ends another day at Gold Coast & looking forward to another day of adventure tomorrow.....
